On November 7th, 2020, Joe Biden was called the projected winner of the 2020 United States Presidential Election. On January 20th, 2021 Biden was sworn in as the 46th President of the US. We’ve heard his speeches, we’ve seen his ads, but what exactly is the BidenHarris agenda and vision for these next few years?
President Joe Biden and Vice-President Kamala Harris have a lot on their agenda, but the biggest focuses are taking on COVID-19, creating jobs and economic recovery for working families, and offering affordable healthcare for everyone. With the detrimental effects of COVID-19, these three agendas all tie in together to do one thing, bring our economy and everyday livelihood anything close to normal. Biden and Harris, on many occasions, have brought up topics of helping the LGBTQ+ community, dismantling systematic racism, and reforming our justice system. In his first week of presidency, he has already lifted the ‘Muslim-ban’, paused federal student loan payments, expanded access to COVID-19 treatments, reversed the transgender military ban, and more. With these first executive orders we can visualize what Biden’s presidency will be like, and laws he wishes to reverse that were placed by the Trump administration. This may be the only time to reverse the injustices and build a new and more open-minded America starting with our government.
